Developer information
Taplings is developed and published by Aarambam, LLC. For privacy-related inquiries, contact: aarambamllc@gmail.com
Data collection
Taplings does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal or sensitive user data. In Google Play's terms, the app "collects" no data, because nothing is ever transmitted off the device. Any on-device storage described below never leaves the device. Specifically, the app does not collect:
- Location data — no approximate or precise location
- Personal information — no name, email, user ID, address, phone number, date of birth, or demographic information
- Financial information — no payment info, purchase history, or credit data
- Health and fitness data — none
- Messages — none
- Photos, videos, or audio files — none
- Files and documents — none
- Device or other identifiers — no Android Advertising ID (AAID), device serial numbers, SIM serial, or any other device identifiers
- App activity — no usage analytics, interaction logs, or behavioral data is transmitted off the device (a rolling on-device usage log exists for the "minutes today" reminder only — see "On-device storage" below)
- App performance data — no crash reports, diagnostics, or performance metrics are transmitted
There are no accounts, no logins, no tracking pixels, and no network requests.
On-device storage
The app stores your preferences (volume, theme, session duration, consent state, onboarding flags) locally on your device using standard browser storage (localStorage) and, on native builds, Capacitor Preferences. It also keeps a rolling on-device usage log (session durations over the past 24 hours, used only to show a gentle "minutes today" reminder). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to anyone other than the device user.
Error logs are stored locally on the device (capped at 5 entries) for troubleshooting purposes. These logs are never transmitted and can only be viewed by the caregiver through the in-app settings menu.
Data sharing
Taplings does not share any data with any third parties. There are no third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers integrated into the app.
Data retention and deletion
Because no user data is collected or transmitted, there is no server-side data to retain or delete. On-device preferences can be cleared at any time through your device's app storage settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Data security
All data remains on your device. The app makes zero external network requests, so there is no data in transit to secure. On-device storage uses the platform's standard storage mechanisms, protected by the device's own security (screen lock, encryption).
Network access
The Android version declares the INTERNET permission. This is required by the Capacitor framework's internal WebView bridge and is not used for any external network communication. The app makes zero external network requests. All assets (fonts, code, images) are bundled in the app.
Third-party code
The app uses the Capacitor framework to wrap the web application for iOS and Android. Capacitor's native bridge requires the INTERNET permission on Android but does not make any external network requests in this app. No other third-party SDKs, libraries, or services are included. There are no advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash reporting SDKs.
Children's privacy
Taplings is designed for use by caregivers with babies and toddlers (primary age group: 6 months to 3 years). Because the app collects no data whatsoever:
- It is designed to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
- It is designed to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- It does not transmit the Android Advertising ID (AAID) from children or users of unknown age
- It does not transmit device identifiers of any kind
- It does not access location data
- It does not contain personalized advertising, interest-based advertising, or remarketing
Advertising and analytics
There are no ads, no analytics, no A/B testing, no crash reporting services, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Given the app's architecture, meaningful changes are unlikely — there is nothing to collect.
